Notes about Pre-emergents: Pre-emergents are applied to prevent crabgrass and controllable broadleaf weeds. Pre-emergents do not prevent grassy weeds such as Dallas Grass, Johnson Grass or Nutsedge from emerging in your lawn.

If weeds persist 2 weeks after a treatment please call the office or go on line to schedule a service call to re-treat.

Additional Services:

  • Control of Nutsedge (commonly referred to as Nutgrass) May – September
Nutsedge is a difficult weed to control as pre-emergents do not prevent germination. The only treatment is to treat it when it appears. It can only be treated in very warm months as the chemical will not affect nutsedge in cold temperatures. The key to treatment is repeated applications – usually 3 to 4 treatments are necessary – heavy infestations may require more treatments. There is an additional charge for control of nutsedge.
  • Control of Dallis Grass May – September.  Dallis Grass is another difficult weed to control as grassy weeds are not affected by pre-emergents. It usually takes 1-3 treatments and the affected area will turn yellow or brown.
  • Flower Bed Weed Control Treatments - Pre-emergents are applied to flower beds 4 times per year to help control broadleaf weeds.
  • Shrub and Tree Fertilization A specially formulated fertilizer for shrubs and trees applied 3 times per year
  • Lawn Fungus Control  These applications are necessary when your lawn shows signs of a fungus such as Brown Patch or Spring Dead Spot. Susecptible lawns may require a preventative fungicide treatment.
  • Fire Ant Control: We offer a yearly application of Fire Ant control for pesky fire ants. For best results a spring application is recommended.
  • Sod: We install sod, Bermuda and St Augustine are the most common. Bermuda grass needs a lot of sunlight to thrive. Most commonly Bermuda dies out on the shady sides of houses and under trees. Please call the office for a consultation for lawn replacement.
  • Mowing:  Our mowing service is a weekly service from March to the end of October. The first mow is in early March when we mow the grass twice and bag the grass – this helps prevent thatch in the growing season. We mow/edge/and use a line trimmer/weed-eater, and blow grass clippings. Most cities will not allow lawn services to bag grass because it contributes heavily to the land-fill. We use commercial mulching mowers which feed your soil in between mowings. We will bag grass clippings around a swimming pool. We mow your lawn the same day of the week all season long – the only deviation is if it rains – in which case we are there the next available day. We pride ourselves on our consistent service.
  • Pruning: We prune shrubs and clean flower beds monthly, every other month, quarterly, or upon request.
  • Mulch: We use Hardwood mulch for flower beds upon request.
  • Flowers: We plant annual flowers upon request.
